11 May, 2017 CHRIS + ALLI // YOSEMITE LESBIAN ENGAGEMENT
The question I get asked most frequently….”Steph, so you just fly out and meet these couples/complete strangers for the first time and stay with them? Then go on adventures? Aren’t you afraid for your life?” The answer is no. I am not worried about getting Stephnapped. The same way I am not really afraid of turbulence…it makes me feel alive. I’m not worried about sitting on the edge of a cliff to get a shot. I get it. It’s not for everyone. Think about it though…what a way to go! Sometimes I wonder how I am going to die. Heck, I could die in the comfort of my own home choking on a piece of steak OR I could die meeting new people, going on road trips and snapping these views. My clients are awesome. Each trip is different. Each couple brings something new to the table and, because I tend to get bored easily, I love that. All of that to say…meet Chris and Alli. They flew in from Connecticut and I flew in from Dallas…we met at the airport in San Jose, hugged each others’ necks, put on some good tunes and headed to Gilroy. Home of pretty much all of the garlic in the world. That garlic ice cream came out of our pores for days. We road tripped to our cabin in Sugar Pine, CA. That time is my favorite. When we come up with inside jokes and have all of the life talks.
The really awesome part about this is that Alli had already proposed to Christiane so this was technically an engagement adventure. Little did Alli know… Chris and I had planned a time on the sunrise hike to surprise Alli with a ring. Magic. Engagement turned proposal. So many fun memories on this trip. First off, I had a double ear infection and sinus infection…so that was cool. We had thee hardest time making a campfire because all of the wood was soggy. At one point we gave up, drank whiskey around the non fire, played would you rather and then stole a kid’s soccer ball and played baseball with a pinecone. We packed a ton into this midweek Yosemite adventure. Really looking forward to their wedding next year! Press play and pretend like you’re taking in that crisp, mountain air.

Posted at 11:07h, 12 MayThe begining of a long journey..reading a map, searching the distance, the tender embraces, a long road toward the unknown. All starting with an old VW bus….as it should be….I think I’m putting words where none should be needed….to your future, where ever it takes you….rob
