This one has been on deck for a bit and I am so excited to show it to you! A few months back on an overcast morning here in Dallas I kept looking up to the sky hoping that storm would hold off. I had places to be! Katie & Amber’s wedding at DEC on Dragon in the Design District to be exact. The girls started getting ready downtown at two separate penthouses. When I arrived I was greeted by the sound of laughter and popping bottles of champagne. We were off to a good start! There may or may not have been an extreme downpour that kept us from exploring but rest assured we made up for it with dance moves and a perfect view of the Dallas skyline twinkling in the background. Super dreamy.

I often get asked, “So, Steph, which one has been your favorite wedding? We won’t tell anyone.” Here’s what I will say…when I drive, Uber, hike down a hill, or fly home from a wedding I sit there with the same look on my face. I think this specific look is commonly referred to as “grinning like an idiot”. I love that I get to approach every single wedding with fresh eyes. That each couple brings a unique twist to their day. The love I see in their eyes is all sorts of magic…never the same.  Always a new moment. Simple answer…they’re all my favorite for different reasons.

That tends to be a pretty quiet time heading home after a wedding. I love that time. I realize that THIS is what life’s all about. Appreciating these small moments. Finding love. Waking up every morning and choosing to continually cultivate that friendship. Allowing yourself to feel effortlessly happy. Hearing the laughter of your favorite person coming from the other room while they’re watching old episodes of FRIENDS while you’re working. Choosing a person who will respect, challenge and uplift you. Someone who will fall asleep on your shoulder mid-story in a homemade fort. That’s what life is all about…going to bed knowing that you’re right where you’re supposed to be and that you have someone by your side in it with you.
