1. PAY FOR THE BRAIN PICKING.
I appreciate both honesty & directness so I will give that in return. It keeps things straightforward and leaves not room for guessing. As creatives, chances are we have made a decent amount of connections and in turn a lot of acquaintances and friends all around the world. Running a business takes energy, money & time. It’s safe to say we have our business and clients on our minds pretty consistently. Imagine if the friends you had all wanted to “pick your brain” about work. Sure, It seems harmless but it adds up quickly. We have spent years learning our craft and more than likely it makes us happy to help people out but that can lead to swift burnout. I offer spaces and opportunities to ask me work related questions. For example, on public forums like the app Clubhouse. This is free. For a small fee you can join my Patreon community and ask questions there. For a more intimate one-on-one I offer Virtual “Life Talks” where I answer any and all business related questions, will critique your website and offer feedback on social media platforms. Our time is valuable. Next time you want to pick a brain jump on a free platform and join in on the conversation or consider booking a session and paying creatives for our time & advice. It means the world to us and keeps us from burnout!
2. DITCH THOSE INSTAGRAM FILTERS:
Let’s say you buy an incredible painting from an artist that you’re going to display in the entrance of your home. You’ve paid good money for this piece of art. The last thing you’re going to do is paint over it before you hang it up for all to see. That would be a pretty big slap in the face to the artist and would definitely destroy the quality of the piece. When you pay good money to get your photos taken… nothing breaks our little hearts more than seeing an Instagram filter over our artwork. Remember, just like that painting… this is the work we have spent hours investing in and creating for you.
3. BACK IT UP!
PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT. When you receive a thumbdrive of your deliverables be it photographs, design, videography or a gallery of your images to download. BACK IT UP. In 2 places! Technology fails us on the regular and the last thing we want is for you to lose your goods!
