28 August, 2015 TomboyX Takes On Dallas
Let’s rewind for a minute shall we? I’d say about 6 months ago I got a call from Kat Cole telling me that I just had to meet up with this brand from Seattle and collaborate with them. She mentioned that she had told them about my photography and within the week I was on the phone with the founders of TomboyX, Fran and Naomi, talking about our brands and making plans to work together. Time passed and we both got pretty busy, but then a few weeks ago I got a call from Fran saying they were packing up an RV and going on a cross country roadtrip to kick off the TomboyX #notyourgrannyspanties tour and also to meet up with some of their fans! Fran said they were going to be in Taylor, TX and would love if the Promote Love Movement could put on an event for them if they came through Dallas for the night…to that I said HECK YES!! I immediately thought of Full Circle Tavern. An incredible patio, roll up warehouse doors, friendliest staff in town…it would be the best place to throw a party on a summer night in Texas! FCT was on board and even brought in a DJ and had some killer specials for us [if you haven’t had their sliders and also their brunch you are missing out on all things good in life.]
As you can see from the images below we all had a blast! Corn hole, polaroids, pop up shops, giveaways and good conversation. It’s always so much fun to get the community together. No doubt about it, the Dallas crew can rally and they always show up. They don’t just show up but they are always down to donate to a good cause. We did $1 raffle tickets for our giveaways and raised $125. 2 weeks ago Promote Love hosted a fundraiser in Dallas to raise money for Equality Texas and everyone raised over $2500 for the cause. The Promote Love Movement is only about 3 months old… I can’t wait to keep growing and see what we can do next! I am so proud of my friends and for the support they show to this movement. It was great to see them come out to welcome our new friends from TomboyX. A trip to Seattle is in the works!
For the money raised at this event we have decided to donate to a brand new non profit called the Denton Verb. They really are doing an amazing job at getting their town together to do good in their community. I am so proud of them. Thank you to everyone who donated! You truly are making a difference. #PromoteLove
